The Spotlight Theatre is a vibrant exciting family-run performance theatre and a jazz lounge that offers once-a-month performances.
The Spotlight Theatre is located in the former, historic Scottish Rite Cathedral in downtown Moline. Beautiful architecture, history, and a very cool ambiance add to the experience and the recently added jazz lounge that features monthly performances.
The theater — which features a large stage, one of the finest organs in the area and a balcony area lined with stained-glass windows make theatre performances even more special.
Construction of the Scottish Rite Cathedral began in 1928 with a cornerstone laid May 24, 1929. It served as home to four Scottish Rites bodies, as well as Masonic, Eastern Star, DeMolay, and International Rainbow chapters, Blue Lodges, York Rite groups.
