The Spillway Area at Rend Lake

Come enjoy a wide variety of events or plan your own at this outdoor group event area on the shores of Rend Lake. It is the home of the Annual Rend Lake 4th of July Fireworks and many other events. This facility can be reserved!

The Spillway Area offers 10 acres of company picnics, weddings, church gatherings, family reunions and many other outdoor events. The area includes a shelter (250 capacity), an amphitheater (250 capacity), a gazebo shelter (30 capacity), a playground, direct access to the Rend Lake Bike Trail, all near paved parking lots. The area also offers picnic tables, flush toilets, and drinking water.

The picnic shelter provides a grill, 8 outlets on separate circuits, and ceiling lighting for evening activities. Water is supplied near the shelter and in several other locations in the area.

The Spillway Area can be reserved for both public and private events. Most of the facilities are accessible to persons with disabilities.

Reservations for the Spillway Area at Rend Lake can be made by contacting the National Recreation Reservation System (NRRS) at toll free number 1-877-444-6777 or TDD 1-877-833-6777 or on the Internet at www.recreation.gov. A credit card must be used to pay fees by phone or on-line. All fees must be paid in full at the time the reservation is made.

America the Beautiful – The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass Senior, Access, Military, Annual, and 4th Grader passes are available through this program and allow for free entrance and day use at Federally-managed facilities. The Senior and Access pass also provides a 50% discount on camping fees. These passes can be obtained at the Rend Lake Project Office.
