Cultural Centers
The programs offered at McCord have a tremendous impact on our community by demonstrating and celebrating the importance of the arts in our lives.
This historic Italianate home is a learning center for art and music, showcasing exhibits of local and regional artists. The gallery shop has ceramics and fine gifts.
The McCord Gallery and Cultural Center in Palos Park opened its doors to the public in 2004 as a nonprofit center for the arts. Built in the early 1830s, the historic “house on the hill” now serves as a community beacon, calling patrons to its classes, workshops, music lessons, concerts and cultural events while showcasing the talents of regional artists and musicians. Spring 2017 witnessed the grand opening of McCord’s new Anderson Annex for the Arts, an addition with expanded exhibit and event space, classrooms and a stage!
With free gallery hours Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., McCord welcomes community members and visitors alike to view its exhibits, tour the property and visit its gift shop filled with creative items and ideas from our members. Visit our website at McCordGallery.org to learn more about upcoming concerts and events and for a complete listing of current and upcoming classes and music lessons or call our office at (708) 671-0648.
