Fischer Theatre

160 North Vermilion Street, Danville, IL 61832

Theater

The Fischer Theatre located in the heart of Downtown Danville.

The Fischer Theatre opened in 1884 as the legendary Grand Opera House. It was renamed the Fischer Theatre in 1913.

Thanks to philanthropist Julius W. Hegeler II and the Hegeler Foundation, the Fischer Theatre, closed since 1982, has gone through a total renovation, bringing it back to its’ original glory. From its ornate and luxurious surroundings, to its nearly perfect acoustics, the Grand Old Opera House entertains to packed houses once again.

The Stage Presents Gift Shop, open Thursday through Saturday 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, showcases creations by local artists and artisans, as well as products featuring the area’s famous stage, movie and vocal artists. A perfect place to pick up a souvenir!
