How Bronzeville Got The Blues
Boogie down to Bronzeville, the South Side Chicago neighborhood where Muddy Waters first plugged his Mississippi delta blues into an amp and electrified a nation. In the ‘50s and ‘60s Bronzeville was a musical hotbed of this new sound. And Chess Records legends like Howlin’ Wolf, Buddy Guy and Chuck Berry eventually fanned the flame of another hot new sound: rock ‘n’ roll. (Hey, don’t take it from us; take it from The Rolling Stones. They're named after a Muddy Waters song.)
